Just in time for the 4th of July, comes our new shade product for sail and power boats. Based on the simple concept of tensioned battens, the shade easily and quickly installs with no new fittings installed on the boat.

Made from quality materials that won't wear out in a marine environment, this shade will last many pleasant seasons.

How does it work?
The concept is simple: three long battens arch over the cockpit and are held in place under tension. Fabric is stretched across the battens and tied into place. Any boat with a toerail or gunnel can quickly and easily install this shade, with no fittings or attachments.

How do I store it?

The three arched battens each separate into three smaller battens which splice together. Simply fold and roll the fabric, and place the fabric and battens in the included carrying bag. The total storage length is less than six feet.

What size should I get?

Our sunshade is available in seven different sizes. The batten structures are all the same, just the cloth size varies. For larger boats, extensions are available to raise the structure above the boom if necessary.

The available cloth sizes are (w=cover width, l=cover length from the front tip to the aft batten):

9S: l=9', w=9.'
9M: l=9', w=12'
12S: l=12', w=9'
12M: l=12', w=12'
12L: l=12', w=14'
15M: l=15', w=12'
15L: l=15', w=14'

Included in the package are the batten structure, the shade cover, and a storage bag.
